Editing / Proofreading

My baseline editing/proofreading rate is $25 per hour, but all services are flexible based on a client's budget for the project at hand.

Options:

  • Send me a set length to edit, and I will tell you the bill afterward based on how long it takes me;
  • Set a time limit (with a set bill based on that time limit) for me to edit under, and I will get through as many pages as possible in the time allotted, but I will not go over unless you request further feedback upon receiving the edited draft;
  • Set a time limit (with a set bill based on that time limit) for me to edit under with instructions to go over the whole document lightly but in as much detail as possible within the time allotted, but I will not go over that limit unless you request further feedback upon receiving the edited draft
  • Give me a specific list of editing/feedback parameters about which you would like feedback, I will only note those types of errors, and then I will tell you the bill afterward based on how long it takes me; or
  • Provide me with a set time limit (with a set bill based on that time limit) for me to edit under, as well as a specific list of editing/feedback parameters.

Instructions:

  • Email me at kmhampshire408@gmail.com;
  • Attach the file(s) as Microsoft word attachment(s);
  • Include in the email the deadline by which you need feedback (and a preferred by date if applicable); and
  • Indicate which editing option you would like to request.

Details:

  • After I finish editing the paper, I will send you a bill request via PayPal; upon receiving the payment, I will then email you the edited document as a Microsoft Word attachment with feedback in the comments (unless another feedback format is requested beforehand).

Grading

Particularly in disciplines that do not directly provide writing instruction, professors may find it difficult or time-consuming to provide their students with constructive criticism on their written work. In these cases, it can be helpful to have a grading assistant (such as myself) who specializes in such commentary.

I have experience providing grading assistance to professors, specifically in accounting, with written assignments in the following capacities; if you are interested in any of these or another arrangement, contact me and we can discuss some options!

Prior Arrangements:

  • Marking up the papers for grammatical errors for the professor to assess and grade accordingly;
  • Marking up the papers for grammatical errors and providing a partial grade based on a writing rubric, which the professor would add with a topical grade to find the overall score;
  • Marking up the papers for grammatical errors and grading based on a writing rubric and a topical rubric, to be approved by the professor;
  • Providing the professor with a list of grammatical errors (by quantity/frequency) found in the documents, based on a list of errors for which the professor wished me to locate;
  • Performing any of the above grading options, where students have the chance to have their work checked prior to the deadline;
  • Performing any of the above grading options and allowing students to revise based on feedback for additional points; and
  • Performing any of the above grading options and allowing students to contact me directly for additional guidance on how to make the changes.
